Think Video for Your Business

Video is something we watch every day, whether it’s YouTube channels, news clips or happy post stories from Upworthy. We tend to think video is only for news, education or entertainment. But a simple video of you talking about what you know and what you have to offer can go a long way.

Video on your website does the following:

  • Video creates an emotional connection with your customers. We all know the adage Know. Like. Trust. Video takes care of each of these in one fell swoop, all that’s left is the BUY.
  • Video gives deep insight into who you are. Body language isn’t something you can ever ‘write’ into your content or graphics. Using video, customers can see your face, eyes and read your body language. They instantly get an idea of what it’s like to work with you.
  • Video can have a life of its own. Using YouTube to stream your video means that there is potential for others to find you and share it with all of those that they know, from a completely different circle of influence. With a little effort and planning over time you could have a series of videos for customers to easily find and peruse.

The last point to remember, is to embrace the imperfections and casual nature of the medium. It’s not only simpler, but preferred, to have a plan for the video with an outline of a script. But most importantly remember to speak casually about what you know and what it is that you believe in. People want to work with those that they like and understand. They will appreciate the effort, vulnerability and attempt to connect with them on a deeper level. If you want some help creating your first company video, send us a note so we can chat. We have some great video production partners that can make this happen for you.
